Friday marked the start of the Morro Bay Kite Festival, bringing the community together to practice the art of kite flying.

The San Luis Obispo International Film Festival hosted Surf Nite in SLO: The Blind Sea at the Fremont Theater Friday.

The three-day weekend event features live music, cooking demonstrations, a traditional carnival and strawberry tastings.

The Philly soul greats had the desert fest crowd swaying to their 1994 chart-topping hit

 3OH!3 also performed at Diplo’s Honky Tonk and had the crowd singing along to their breakout hit "Don't Trust Me"
