Craig Orndorff is the host of WEEKEND IN THE COUNTRY. The love of music has always been a major part of his life. Craig grew on the Country hits of the 70s and 80s. In his youth he played the saxophone and piano, and sang (and continues to sing) in church choirs. Growing up in a rural community meant that you were raised on Country music. Especially since Craig’s home is also the home of Patsy Cline and The Statler Brothers! In a fast-paced two hour voyage through time, each episode spotlights one memorable week in Country Music between 1975 and 1999.

HOMETOWN: Milwaukee, Wisconsin but have lived all over the place (Chicago, Fort Wayne, Bay Area and locally SLO, Los Osos and Oceano.
FAVORITE THINGS: Music is everything to me. But also my rescue dogs, the color blue, road trips, live music ( I go to A LOT of concerts. A LOT.), nachos, baseball (Giants and Cubs), hockey (Blackhawks) and being with friends and family while we laugh our butts off, eating really good food and drinking really good wine.
FAVORITE BANDS: Tough to pick a few because I truly love music, all kinds of music. Foo Fighters, Elton John, X, Los Lobos, Springsteen-there are so many more…
FAVORITE PLACES: Locally I love Sweet Springs Nature Preserve in Los Osos & Montana De Oro, walking around downtown SLO, driving around the Central Coast in general (it does not suck where we live). Also love driving across the Golden Gate Bridge in SF, any museum or aquarium. And although I haven’t been there YET, Paris is on my list too. Someday!!!
