Before showcasing a massive Ford F-450 Super Duty called “Big Dog Daddy,” Toby Keith prepared for the release of his self-titled debut album. The years of work, dreaming, and worrying had finally paid off. And when the album hit the airwaves, it did more than top the US Heatseekers Albums chart. It launched the career of a country music icon. Over the decades that followed, Keith shared his love for country music, America, and the armed forces. But taking a moment to honor his legacy, Ella Langley went back to where it all began with “Wish I Didn’t Know Now.”

For many fans, they sadly know what it feels like to be betrayed by the one they loved. Some even learn the crushing news after years of marriage. And for Keith, he poured those same feelings into “Wish I Didn’t Know Now.” Throughout the lyrics, the narrator explained how the love of his life was unfaithful to him. While just a fear, it soon became a reality. Learning the truth, the narrator wondered if it was better than being blissfully ignorant.

Recently, Langley took the stage in front of thousands of screaming fans. Entertaining them with an assortment of tracks from her hit album, Dandelion, she took a moment to remember Keith. Pouring her heart into the performance, it didn’t take long before her cover circulated on social media.

What Fans Had To Say About Ella Langley’s Toby Keith Cover

Gaining thousands of likes, fans flooded the comments with praise. It was more than love, as one person wrote, “One of my favorite Toby songs, I love this cover!!! I duet it with her whenever I hear it. Lol. It sounds great btw!!!” Another fan added, “I heard it when Toby sang it but I listened when Ella sang it.”

Nearly four decades have passed since Keith shared his debut album. And over the years, songs like “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” and “A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action” stole the spotlight. But thanks to Langley, those timeless tracks some might overlook were still taking center stage.

Reaching deep into Keith’s catalog, Langley not only gifted fans a special performance, but reminded them that his legacy extended far beyond the songs that dominated country radio.
